Reporting to the Director of Procurement & Estates, you'll provide strategic leadership across facilities management, supplier performance, contract management, maintenance programmes, and capital projects. About the Role
As Head of Facilities and Contract Management, you'll lead the Facilities team while overseeing key supplier and contractor relationships across our portfolio of homes, schools, and services.
You'll be responsible for ensuring our properties remain safe, compliant, and operationally effective, while driving value for money, continuous improvement, and outstanding service delivery across the organisation.
Working closely with senior leaders across Operations, Finance, IT, and Estates, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering facilities strategies, refurbishment programmes, and capital investment projects that support the future growth of Compass Community.
- Leading and developing a high-performing Facilities team.
- Managing supplier and contractor performance to ensure excellent service delivery and value for money.
- Overseeing facilities budgets, maintenance programmes, and asset performance across a national property portfolio.
- Ensuring all properties remain compliant with health, safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement across facilities operations, processes, and service delivery.
- Leading business continuity and disaster recovery planning to minimise disruption across services.
- Managing refurbishment, maintenance, and capital investment projects from planning through to completion.
- Monitoring the performance of buildings, critical systems, and facilities contracts, providing regular reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively across the business to ensure facilities services support operational objectives and future growth.
We're seeking an experienced Facilities and Contract Management professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality environments.
You'll ideally have:
- A qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar Health & Safety qualifications.
- Significant experience managing facilities and contracts within a multi-site organisation.
- Strong knowledge of commercial building management, planned and reactive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and service-level performance.
- A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and facilities compliance requirements.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing facilities or maintenance teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
- Experience managing refurbishment programmes, capital projects, and facilities budgets.
- Knowledge of CAFM systems and facilities performance reporting.
- Experience within healthcare, education, social care, or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
