Assistant Management Accountant
About The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across Compass Community.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious part-qualified or newly qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a growing organisation. You will work closely with operational and finance teams, gaining exposure to a variety of financial activities while helping to drive continuous improvement across reporting and financial processes.

What You'll Be Doing
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Support the production of management information for operational and senior leadership teams.
- Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Help review financial reporting processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.
- Work closely with budget holders and operational managers to provide financial support and analysis.
- Assist with the integration of new services and acquisitions into financial reporting processes.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
- Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies.
Candidates Must Have
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or relevant accounting experience.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of management accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced finance environment.
