We are looking for Family Support Workers for our Residential Family Assessment Centre in Cottingham, Yorkshire. This will be a busy and challenging role and therefore you will have commitment and dedication to providing high quality support to family and staff in line with OFSTED regulations.
This is a highly trusted role that will require sensitivity and excellent safeguarding awareness, to provide support to Parent & Child placements in a residential setting on a waking duty, monitoring the safety of families and CCTV throughout the night.
The role will be part-time on a rolling shift pattern of 20 hours across 2 nights per week. Night shifts pattern is 10:00pm – 8.00am. There is expectation of flexibility to provide shift cover as required.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements:
- Experience working within a Children’s Residential, Early Years, or Children’s Social Care setting would be an advantageous skill set.
- Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and understanding working with complex families.
- Good understanding of basic Microsoft IT packages and email.
- Ability to communicate effectively in complex or challenging situations with families.
- Ability to build relationships with service users maintaining professional boundaries.
- Provide a caring and nonjudgemental approach to individuals in a supporting role.
Preferable Skills and Knowledge:
Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in a Safeguarding or Looked after Children’s Teams.
